Our Story

From Mzizima to one of Tanzania’s most progressive football institutions.

Azam Football Club is based in Chamazi, Temeke, Dar es Salaam. Nicknamed Wana Lambalamba, Chamazi Millionaires and the Bakers, the club began as Mzizima Football Club in 2004, became Azam Sports Club in 2005, and adopted the name Azam Football Club in 2006.

The club moved to its current home, Azam Complex Chamazi, in 2010. Since then, Azam FC has grown into a respected football brand known for professionalism, player development, competitive ambition and a clear football identity.

Azam FC has won one Premier League, a record five Mapinduzi Cups, two Kagame Cups, one Tanzania FA Cup and one Community Shield.

Historic Standard

Unbeaten champions.

In the 2013/14 season, Azam FC won the league unbeaten, becoming only the second club in Tanzanian football history to complete a league campaign without losing a match.

The unbeaten league run stretched across 38 games from the 2012/13 season into 2014/15. In 2015, Azam FC became the first Tanzanian club to win the Kagame Cup without conceding a goal.
